What happened
On February 6th an earthquake of 7.8 magnitudes struck in Gaziantep, Türkiye, leaving thousands outside their homes under the snowfall, freezing temperatures and uncertainty. In this tragedy, between Türkiye and Syria, 50.000 people lost their lives, and over 20 million people have been affected in the area.

Kids Rainbow is a well-established and recognized actor in Gaziantep since 2021. We normally offer non-formal educational activities, child and refugees protection services to 110 children and their families. Soon after the earthquake occurred, we started supporting families, local volunteers, team members and those who needed in our neighborhood, by distributing food, clothes, blankets, and hygienic kits and by providing a safe space to stay in our center.

Vision
The earthquake will have long terms consequences on the life of the local and refuge community. Some lost their relatives, their homes, their jobs. While keep monitoring livelihood conditions in the affected areas, Kids Rainbow will help its participants and the surrounding community to recover from traumas and feeling of uncertainty, by providing learning opportunities, phycological support, food and basic needs vouchers.
